The new Daniel Bryan may already be WWE’s best heel

With all due respect to Drew McIntyre and Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan is doing some of the best work of his career.

Bryan made not one but two critical appearances on this week’s episode of SmackDown. The WWE champion was spectacular during his time on Miz TV but then went out and one-upped himself during the main event segment.

While waxing poetic on a good but not great match between Miz and AJ Styles, Bryan stole the show on commentary.

Bryan’s rants and his verbal takedown of Byron Saxton was so good, you almost forgot there was a wrestling match going on in the ring.

The new Daniel Bryan is an unapologetic know-it-all and he’s truly great at it.

Post-match, Bryan laid a vicious beatdown of Styles. The prolonged attack lasted so long that SmackDown went off the air while Bryan still had Styles locked in a submission hold.

The new Bryan is vicious, arrogant, condescending and it’s all working really well.

When Daniel Bryan came out of retirement earlier this years fans were excited to jump right back in on the Yes Movement. And rightfully so, because Daniel Bryan’s run to the top of the card and WrestleMania 30 was one of the best stories WWE has told over the last 10 years.

Who didn’t want to try and relive that storybook one more time?

Now seeing Bryan working as a true heel for the first time years, he’s so good you almost don’t want to see him touch on his underdog persona anytime or maybe even ever again.

Is Daniel Bryan the best heel WWE has at the moment?
