Raw posts record low viewership

As the Wrestling Observer has pointed out, this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw posted a record low for viewership. The show drew 2.28 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.36 million. That’s just below the Oct. 1 show that was a previous new low.

The hourly breakdown showed a massive drop in the first hour:

Hour one: 2.26 million
Hour two: 2.39 million
Hour three: 2.19 million

Last week’s first hour drew 2.61 million viewers before the big dropoff in the second hour. Monday Night Football did over 11 million viewers on ESPN, so that explains some of the drop but there isn’t much else to point to with that first hour.

Still, the numbers continue to go down while critics continue panning just how poorly put together the show has been in recent weeks. Last week’s show, in particular, was one of the worst in recent memory.

The good news is we’re inching ever closer to WrestleMania season and the end of Monday Night Football, so perhaps relief is right around the corner.
