Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed reports stating Rey Mysterio is in talks with WWE to sign a new contract … however, our sources say the deal is contingent on a few key details.
Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso first reported that the two sides are in talks. According to our sources, Mysterio is meeting with officials in person next month to hopefully finalize the contract.
Our sources say Rey wants a part time deal where he’d be paid appropriately for the name value he brings to the table, plus he wants to be allowed to partake in outside projects.
PWInsider reports Triple H is the point person handling negotiations, which sources have confirmed.
According to Barrasso, John Cena has requested a match against Mysterio at WrestleMania 34 because apparently a match against The Undertaker is now off the table. No confirmation from our sources at this point on whether this part of the report is accurate.
